Andrew, Thank you for writing this insightful analysis of the governor's final budget. I consider you a watchdog on the current administration and you provide a wake-up call to the public (if they're so inclined to be awakened from their euphoric trance) that the best leadership is hardly a popularity contest. I also support your points on the steps needed to get the natural gas pipeline project moving along. When Mayor Begich states that he didn't understand the governor's cuts from the municipality's budget when oil is selling over $70/barrel he conveniently avoids the reality that production continues to decline towards 800K barrels per year. Even with oil forecast to hold between $60 & $70 per barrel we will soon reach a intersection point where production declines will cause a shortfall in state revenue.
