(12/23/08) John Sullivan writing in this morning's Wall Street Journal Online, attempts to make the comparison between Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher by completely fabricating Palin's accomplishments regarding Alaska's Natural Gas Pipeline project. 

"On the other hand, Mrs. Palin rose in state politics to jobs requiring executive ability. Her successful conduct of the negotiations with Canada, Canadian provinces and American states over the Alaska pipeline was a larger executive task than anything handled by Mrs. Thatcher until she entered the Cabinet and, arguably, until she became prime minister."

Sucessful negotiations with Canada, Canadian Provinces and American states; what pipeline is this guy talking about? 

Oh yeah, but her successful negotiations with Santa Claus have guaranteed that he'll deliver the gas, steel pipe and financing necessary for the project on Christmas Day.

Pigs in lipstick, that is... here is Palin, energy expert...(taken from a interview)AIRQUOTES HERE! " Of course, it's a fungible commodity and they don't flag, you know, the molecules, where it's going and where it's not. But in the sense of the Congress today, they know that there are very, very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first. So, I believe that what Congress is going to do, also, is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it's Americans who get stuck holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here. It's got to flow into our domestic markets first."

Andrew, Do you think people are really believing all this? Everytime I hear one of her staffers open his/her mouth, I'm waiting for the newest lie. And this is a woman who got pranked and didn't know the NAME of the Canadian Prime Minister?! Who'd she negotiate the deal with? The radio dj's in Quebec?
