(2/13/09) Rumors have begun to circulate in the capitol about the sudden departure of former Attorney General Talis Colberg and possible pressure that was brought upon him as well as a Wasilla State Senator.

Yesterday, a popular blog reported that Governor Sarah Palin's father, Chuck Heath, had called Colberg and asked him to write a letter defending the governor's administration in response to the State Senate passing Senate Resolution 5.

The resolution which passed on a vote of 16 to 1, found that Gov. Palin's husband, Todd, and nine Palin aides in contempt for failing to show up when ordered by subpoena to testify in the Legislature's "Troopergate" investigation of the governor.

Colberg never wrote any such letter.

His abrupt departure without any real explanation has given energy to the rumor that he was pushed out because he refused to escalate the tension that already exists between the executive and legislative branches of state government.

On Wednesday, in an attempt to take the focus off of Colberg's mysterious departure, the governor threw together a press conference, surrounded by a room full of aides and commissioners.

The Alaska Budget Report described the scene at the press conference: "Ensconced by some 25 commissioners, aides and assistants, the governor and her entourage dwarfed the press corps, whose members jockeyed for the scant remaining seats in the Third-Floor conference room."

During the press conference, Sean Cockerham from the Anchorage Daily News asked Palin if she requested that Colberg send a response letter to the Senate challenging SR5.

Instead of answering the question directly, Palin looked up and down the long table to her staff trying to find some consensus before answering the question.

In addition, word began circulating yesterday around the halls of the capital that Colberg wasn't the only to receive a phone call from the governor's father.

A few lawmakers reported to me yesterday that Wasilla Senator Linda Menard, who was one of six Republican Senators who voted in favor of the resolution, received a not so pleasant phone call from Palin's dad.

Menard is a long time friend of the Palins and had strong support during last falls election in winning the seat held by former Wasilla Senator Lyda Green.

Reportedly, the fact that Menard supported the resolution didn't sit well with the family.

These reported attempts to pressure with intimidating phone calls is beginning to sound a lot like the Wooten affair.

Who are these people; the Sopranos?

Meanwhile, with the absence of any real reason for the Colberg departure, rumors are left to fill the vacuum.

She simply cannot learn.

She simply cannot learn. This is not a basketball court, attack is not often the correct response. But she attacks everyone and anyone who dares to question her or gets in her way. It really is time for this woman to go. club penguin

Wonders Never Cease

This govenor in name only is going to go down in history as one of the worst blunders we as voters made. At least with Teddie, he took care of Alaskans. This one, Sarah, takes care of herself with tons of goodies tossed in for the family and jobs for very unqualified friends. Hey dad, butt out. Just because Todd is out snowmachining doesn't mean you can step in and take his place. Stop with the phone calls already. There are thousands of people who read these blogs and discuss the hard work Andrew puts into his blog. We thank you. More should comment but then what can you say when you are continually speechless at the hillbillies running our State!

What Did Plouffe Say?

www.politicalwire.com Though Obama campaign manager David Plouffe made his speech off the record yesterday, Dana Milbank got several attendees to a provide full account of his nearly 90-minute talk. On Sarah Palin: "She was our best fundraiser and organizer in the fall."

Well Dud is indesposed so...

The wicked witch of Wasilla, oops Alaska had to get SOMEONE to do her bidding!!! Where is Alaska's Aslan?
pissed of Palin
Call them, Dammit!!!!

The definition of insanity

I believe it was Sarah that told one of the oil companies that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. She simply cannot learn. This is not a basketball court, attack is not often the correct response. But she attacks everyone and anyone who dares to question her or gets in her way. It really is time for this woman to go. The legislature has grounds for impeachment, perjury and abuse of power for starters, do it.

In honor of Lincoln's birthday....

it seems we need to update the Gettysburg address for Alaska: "...and that government of the Palin/Heaths, by the Palin/Heaths, for the Palin/Heaths, shall not perish from the earth."

So much for Sen. Menard

She will now be placed on the list along with Lida and oh so many other Heath/Palin adversaries. Linda is welcome any time for drinks at the "Under the Bus Club" dress is casual.

Miss Linda

Linda Menard has to decide whether she is going to be a mindless lacky/supporter of the governor or a dynamic senator for her constituents. Are we taking bets? We have three equal and separate branches of the government. Hopefully, Linda will remember that and do what is right. She needs to make sure she doesn't allow Chuck Heath to intimidate her into being one of the three blind mice!

They are tribal

The Palins run the state in a manner similar to how Saddam Hussein ran Iraq (without all the massacres etc, of course). Under Saddam's regime, if you were related or were a Tikriti, you helped run the show, had special rights, and so on, showing disdain for the rest of the nation and the world. Under the Palin regime, it similarly tribal. If you are a family member or friend- or a Wasillan, you help run the show, have special rights, and show disdain for everyone else- the legislature, the press, most of the state's citizens from Emmonak to Juneau. I think once people understand the Palin regime operates in this tribal manner, other things will fall into place and make sense- her repeated lies about troopergate, her obvious lie about Colberg's departure, the per diem and family travel lies, the clothing lies, the disdain for the legislature, the double standard she holds for other politicians versus herself on ethics, political tactics, criticism, whining, Caroline Kennedy and so on. It also explains the vindictiveness in which she and her entire family engage. It may not be chemical warfare, but it is constant abuse of power and cult building- and a feeling among her family and close aides that they are above the law and unaccountable to anyone but the head of the regime.

It's genetic!

Obviously Queen GINO (Gov. in name only) has "also" developed the Heath gene of NOT being able to keep their mouths shut, when it's in their best interest. It's genetic! Everytime they open the "yapper" they get in deeper and deeper. Here in Alaska, we have the offspring out of the movie "Deliverence" running our State! Yesterday was an interesting day in my region. Here I had quite a conversation with a handful of Alaskan's from Anchorage. Our common thread was, this Queen Gino (gov. in name only) is seriously, "out to lunch" or has been hit over the head withher fathers lunch pail. Goal: GINO (gov. in name only) cannot be relected...also.
