Rep.Bob Lynn: Making Monegan's case

On Monday, State Representative Bob Lynn (R-Anchorage), one of the six Republican lawmakers attempting to get the Alaska State Supreme Court to stop the current legislative investigation into the firing of former public safety commissioner Walt Monegan, made the case why the investigation should continue.

During an interview on KTUU News regarding a story about Governor Sarah Palin's original position on a piece of legislation that would have prohibited investments in companies doing business with the Sudanese government, Lynn's explanation points to a glaring inconsistency.

"Republican Rep. Bob Lynn, a Palin supporter who also co-sponsored the bill, said the important point is the governor supports the bill now, not what a deputy commissioner testified to in a hearing.

"He's just one person and they don't all go in lock step with the administration," he said. "There's a variety of opinion over there and that's fine." KTUU News 10/6/08

"They don't all go in lock step with the administration, there's is a variety of opinion over there."

Is that really true?

According to the Palin administration that is exactly the reason why former Commissioner Walt Monegan supposedly got fired; for not following in lock step with the administration and being an "egregiously subordinate employee."

But yet according to Lynn, were supposed to believe that on February 9, 2008, when Deputy Commissioner of Treasury Brian Andrews acted as a rogue employee by testifying against the divestiture bill in front of a legislative committee without the blessing of his superiors.

Lynn's lack of logic makes the case for the immediate completion of the Troopergate investigation so we can get to the facts.
