Running from issues.....

Alright, I have to ask these questions...was she invited? If she was, did she physically receive the invite? I bet it was thrown out by Bailey!! I bet he spoke on behalf of the Gov...agian... and that's why she didn't go. Baiely is such a b-word, and a cancer to the State. *wink*

This is just another cited incidence of Governor Palin's selfish attitude. She is only out to promote herself. At least the national media is now exposing the lies she has told the American public. Stretching the truth may be okay in familiar company, but now Sarah has dropped the line about the Bridge to Nowhere in her speech to Alaskans. Honestly, is there any sense of accountability and responsibility in this woman. The Democrats are calling her a "cocky wacko" and as a registered Republican, I believe them!

Andrew, I believe of the Sara Palin's most effective strategies in gaining popularity and power in Alaska was the hiring of some key folks from the local press to high paid state jobs. These folks had personal relationships with news managers/editors as well as sending the message that if you play nice with the Palin administration you may get a big fat state job. I know she hired the woman who used to do the Native issues reporting on KTUU and the wacky unethical situation with Bill McCalister. I have heard there were a bunch more from the ADN, KTUU and other news outlets. I suspect it is pretty effective when you just casually mention to someone making a $30,000 or $40,000 salary that Sara Really Really Really likes their work and someday her administration may have another $100,000 plus job open up. I've even heard that Megan Baldino's sudden leaving was linked to her trying to gain favor innapropriately with the Palin gang. Can you or another blogger summarize all the Palin Administration and Alaska Press links and nonsense ? The carrot for Sara to dangle to the Alaska press folks just got a whole lot richer.

Give the disaster that Sarah in the Whitehouse presents....are you willing to do what's best for hte country and vote for Obama to keep her out? I sure am.

Thank you for pointing this out. It's not surprising Palin ducked out of being held accountable. Governor Palin also vetoed funding for the Special Olympics. Palin's administration has continued to allow children with disabilities to languish on a wait list for basic services. Palin's promise in her RNC speech to be an advocate in the White House for children with disabilities is just more empty pandering. Palin is an advocate for Palin. Children with disabilities only come into that equation when she thinks it will score her some points.

I've heard several comments about the thousands of extra dollars it has cost state agencies to conduct official business in Anchorage instead of in Juneau, due to Palin's insistence that she remain closer to home. That means lots of to/from air travel by state staff who are dislodged from their Juneau headquarters, plus hotels, meals, etc. Has anyone computed those extra costs to the state of AK (besides Palin charging the state per diem for staying at home)??

This does not surprise anyone who has been paying attention to Sara over the years. It is always about Sara, what Sara wants and what fits for Sara's political future. Her Children are used as Props, Her Husband is used as a Prop and her Parents are used as Props. Even Saturday Night Live poked fun at her using her Children as Props and then whining about people leaving her family alone. SNL compared her nonsense at the Republican Convention to the scene in the Lion King Movie where the new royal baby is held up to the cheering masses. Going back to her stint as Mayor of Wasilla whe would always drag her kids out in front to the camera and play the feel sorry for the mom card. Sara has always been a devisive person. As the Anchorage paper recently eluded to she is a vindictive and nasty punisher of her percieved foes even for subtle slites. She holds a grudge and she will go out of her way to cause very real problems for her foes and their families. The poor folks who got caught between Sara and her cronies like Kristin Cole on the Mat Maid Dairy debacle. Some of those folks we just trying to get the failing dairy shut down before it cost the state more money. When the old Dairy board did not salute the new queen quickly enough they ere attacked in the most punitive and personal way by Sara's own "good old boy and gal network". Many in Alaska truly fear Sara and her family having access the resources of the VP position like the Secret Service and the IRS.
