Sarah Palin and the Alaska National Guard

Sarah Palin has allowed the Generals at the Alaska National Guard to intimidate and retaliate against any Guardsmen who speak out against this abuse. Moral is low. I know because my son was a Guardsman there and was intimidated when he spoke out against injustices by these Generals. It is corrupt and good people want out. Please try to get this travesty investigated. I have evidence and intend to nail these "good old boys" including Sarah Palin if necessary. From a Viet Nam Vet

Alaska National Guard

It's me again--that old Viet Nam Vet who hates injustices. I am very angry because all my cries for investigations have gone unnoticed. General Kacus is the worst culprit. My son is a highly decorated Afghanistan war veteran. He deserves honorable treatment. Yet the retaliation continues by Generals Campbell and Kacus. I guess I will have to live with this travesty. The Vet and I am a registered user. Please check

Sarah

Andrew--when will the press get the story of "Cost Cuttin' Sarah" and the Mat Maid Dairy fiasco--how "her" Dairy Board tried to close Mat Maid to save the State money, and she fired them all and replaced with her friends to keep about 4 dairy farmers in the Valley going--and then finally closed Mat Maid some months later after loosing a lot more money. I think the press has yet to come up with this story, and its a good one!

Palin

http://www.defendersactionfund.org/newsroom/sarah_palin.html You may want to look at this. I am appalled by what I am reading here. Check out the video.

This is Hearsay, it should be stated as such

Andrew this statement fueled people's notion of an insufficiently vetted pick. I know its just a blog but you have a lot of ears now. "The campaign of John McCain has sent a staff of eight people into Alaska to conduct background checks and vetting on Governor Sarah Palin." That's a statement of certainty. Unless this came from *at least* one McCain campaign member, IMO this should have been phrased as rumor.

They are there to clean the air

It has been confirmed that about 15 people from the McCain camp are there now. May be these other facts would interest you: 1 -Palin's husband was member of third party 2- Palin sought pork-barrel projects for her city and state, contrary to her reformist image. 3_Her husband once belonged to a fringe political group in Alaska with some members supporting secession from the United States. 4_A private attorney has been authorized to spend $95,000 to defend her against accusations of abuse of power. 6_She has acknowledged smoking marijuana in the past. Actually, she started "well". just like most republicans the first thing she said at her intro rally was straight out lie( remember the I told senate "thanks, but no thanks"?) Here we go: Since Palin's nomination last week, these issues also are raising eyebrows: _In her earlier career as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin hired a lobbyist to help the tiny town secure at least 14 earmarks, worth $27 million between 2000-2003. McCain has touted Palin as a force in his long battle against earmarks. _Her husband, Todd, twice registered as a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a fierce states' rights group that wants to turn all federal lands in Alaska back to the state. Sarah Palin herself never registered as a member of the party, according to state officials, though party members said she attended a 1994 convention with her husband. _The state legislature is investigating whether she had Alaska's public safety commissioner fired after he refused to dismiss a state trooper who had divorced Palin's sister. Lawyer Thomas Van Flein said he is representing Palin both personally and in her official capacity as governor. He can bill the state up to $95,000. _Palin opposed the U.S. government's listing of a variety of animals as endangered, including the polar bear and the beluga whale, both of which inhabit areas also rich in oil and natural gas. _Palin previously acknowledged she smoked marijuana but said in a 2006 interview she no longer used the drug. "I can't claim a Bill Clinton and say that I never inhaled," she said. • Palin's management style has come under scrutiny. When taking over as mayor of Wasilla, she asked top officials to submit resignation letters, resulting in several departures, including that of the police chief. The chief claimed it was because he supported her opponent in the mayor's race. _Under her leadership this year, Alaska asked for almost $300 per person in requests for pet projects from Stevens, one of McCain's top adversaries. That's more than any other state received, per person, from Congress. I said it .... more to come my friends ... more to come! I put my $1 down that she's going to be the second person in history to step down as the VP (first one was a republican too by the way) and the story would go this way...after consideration, we have decided that the best thing for our family is to help take care of the kids and our grand child... and the republicans would hail her as a hero again...Country first!... doesn't end :)

You guys wait until her

You guys wait until her nomination ... then you'll see all the dirty stuff about her in the national media. boy, this one is going to take more than 1000 Karl Rove to clean up. The campaign is dead! What a bad choice! It tells you how bad McCain's judgment is.

mccain 'bad judgement'

John McCain is probably suffering some senile dementia--how else can one explain naming Palin to VP?

Alaskan Independence Party

I wonder if we will hear about her membership in the Alaskan Independence Party whose goal is as follows: 1) Remain a Territory. 2) Become a separate and Independent Nation. 3) Accept Commonwealth status. 4) Become a State.

Palin: Independent Party

You liberal democrats crack me up! This election has convinced me more than ever that you will stoop as low as necessary in an attempt to win an election and take over the country. Defamation of character, fraudulent voter registrations, and on and on and on. I've been told before that you think you have all the right answers about what is best for the country and that those who disagree with you are intellectually challenged. So, you feel justified in taking whatever steps necessary to get your way (including lies, fraud and other illegal activity) because you believe you have to take care of us poor idiots who don't see things your way. What a load of @#$!%$

the unlikely veep

How come anyone has yet to make the obvious comparison of Sarah with Tonya Harding, the redneck who'd break her opponent's knees to gain step in the race? Is she really too pretty for that?

The Bridge to Nonsense

Look people, the US Congress canceled the Bridge to Nowhere earmarks in 2005. That was BEFORE Sarah Palin began her run for the governorship. So on Friday, in front of 15,000 people in Ohio and millions of people in the US and around the world, she lied through her teeth. She couldn't have stood up to Congress as she claimed because the Republicans had canceled that specific earmark. They nevertheless sent the money to Alaska, and she used it. She is building a road "to nowhere." And after the earmark was canceled she was still supporting it and others snared by Alaska's powerful, scandal-plagued Republican Congressional delegation. It's not that hard to grasp. The issues here are two: this woman cannot be trusted if on her first rollout she is lying so blatantly, and McCain's judgment and temperament, as Republicans in the US Senate have repeatedly suggested, are seriously lacking. It's as if this whole thing were a joke predicated solely on pleasing right-wing evangelicals, big oil and the tiny group of Hillary PUMAs who'd vote against their ideological interests, with the laugh being on the 200+ million rest of us. If you cannot vote for Obama and Biden, then vote for Nader, vote for Barr, vote for McKinney, but this McCain-Palin ticket makes a mockery not only of the party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan, but of our entire American political tradition. It's a disgrace, and if the baby drama is what it takes to get people to realize how disgraceful it is, so be it.

AIP

What is up with her with this organization as an Alsaka Independent People against the United States. This woman does not want to be an America. This organization wants to seperate Alsaka from the United States. She is one of the major leader. So, this tell us she is a traitor and will committ treason against us as a Nation. This woman needs to be check out as well as this organization. She has family issues, uses her power for selfish reason and now wants to destroy America. We can not afford to feed her self purpose and this terriosm that McCain is attempting to put into power. Now, check this out because it will put the Nation at risk allowing an organization member to become in power.

Why the short vetting period.

The NY Times has a good summary of the developments the week before McCain chose Palin.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/02/us/politics/02vetting.html?hp

His first two choices, Lieberman and Ridge, are pro-choice and McCain was deluged with acrimony from the right-to-lifers and influential Republicans, so he backed off. McCain decided against Pawlenty and Romney for unclear reasons. His advisors told him his campaign was stagnating. He needed to infuse it with a VP choice who would be palatable to the far right and also give the campaign some energy. He knew virtually nothing about Palin, but he knew she was against abortion. He acted hastily, regardless who's telling the story. How this could ever reflect well on him and his decision making process is anyone's guess. For his team to wait so late in the game to make a crucial choice for running mate is pretty much an indictment of his authority within his own party.

America's vetting of Sarah Palin

John McCain is doing all he can to avoid high-tailing it to the twin cities to the get RNC show on the road and who can blame him. Sarah Palin has had her 15 minutes of fame and now American needs to know the truth about her. Now John McCain has decided to vet his 'soulmate' but America is already a step ahead of him. We're looking at everything in her background to find evidence that she deserves to be a 'heartbeat' from presidency. Americans have a right to question anything about Sarah Palin even her ability to be a good mother. Sarah Palin will prove manipulative. I think it will come out that Trig is in fact her grandson - not her son. In almost every photo, Bristol is holding the little boy in a way that suggests she is his mother. Why did Sarah Palin pull her daughter out of school for 5 months? In previous photographs that show Sarah Palin as a pregnant mother, she looks really pregnant. But no person can say that Sarah Palin looked visibly pregnant during her 'last' pregnancy and she boards a plane - in labor - from Texas to Alaska - none of it makes sense. Any mother in labor is not going to get on a flight to deliver a child when there are better hospitals in Texas than there are in Alaska. Then this Superwoman returns to work in 3 days, heavy bleeding and all. hmmm. Also, why is Sarah Palin's son going off to Iraq on Sept. 11 instead of going off to college. Is Sarah Palin 'shipping' him off for some reason. Sarah Palin certainly does not seem to support post secondary education. We will learn that Sarah Palin is a con artist who uses her sex appeal to make things happen for her much to the detrement of others. Any other candidate would be ripped to shreds but now all we hear are people covering up for her. Let ALL the truth be told. We're going to learn that the Monehan Troopergate issue is just the tip of the iceberg.

Thanks

for having the kid free zone and sticking to it....also for rising above the gossip and getting into the meat and facts. Some meat for discussion, as folks in the states are calling and mentioning, the bridge to nowhere. There were 2 bridges and both of them we ridiculed> Why is Gravina Bridge the only one talked about now?

Is it a vetting mission . .

Is it a vetting mission . . . or a scrubbing mission?

Interesting tidbit of info.

Interesting tidbit of info. Care to clue us in on how you came about with the info? Any idea what they plan to do? Did they make pre-arranged points of contacts? They could just be a staff to help easy her thru the deposition and clean up any minor infractions that McCain may find difficult to explain later on. Then again, things may go missing after they've vetted material too. Hope there are numerous copies of all files relating to the gov.

Vetting

Why bother vetting now? McCain made his choice, I doubt he back tracks from his decision. If his choosing Sarah Palin didn't cost him the election, dropping her certainly will. Nothing short of a miracle will prevent the GOP from nominating her.

Unqualified Veep

Somebody explain to me why McCain picked this undergrad airhead sorority chick? There are more people living in Rhode Island than there are in Alaska. Hell, there are more people living in the average Brooklyn neighborhood than in her whole state! This should be a backboard breaking slam dunk. Women in this country work their asses off to get ahead and it is disgusting to see someone walk up, kissing up to the boss saying all the right things, and getting the job. Palin is the Republican's response to affirmative action. She's the token minority. Unqualfied. Unjustified. Unbelieveable.

The Conservative "Base" Can't Stand McCain, That's Why!

The McCain team (does it include Karl Rove?) picked Palin because they are very worried about their conservative base staying home on election day. The conservative base has got a bad case of heartburn over McCain's nomination. (IMO, the chickens are just coming home to roost after the way they savaged him in 2000.) I live in Upstate SC, one of the most conservative areas of the country, and I've seen a grand total of TWO McCain stickers on cars around here. Quite a different story than in 2000 and 2004, when you couldn't swing a dead cat around here without hitting a car with a "W" sticker on it.

You are a rumor monger!

You are a rumor monger! With no proof, you push stories other bloggers can quote. Why don't you go and find out if McCain sent 8 investigators to Wasilla? You could take photos, even interview them! You don't, though. I think you are a lazy guy with your eye on the main chance to be famous at the expense of Sarah Palin.

Thank you Halcro

Keep up the good work!!

I guarentee that

she was not vetted properly. How can I do that from in Connecticut? Because other Alaskan bloggers have started to go through Palin's records that are only available at Libraries and other local venues. You know? The stuff that is not archived on the net. Anyways, they have been told that they were the very first people to ask to view these materials. It makes what Halcro is saying seem pretty darn credible. They are realizing now that they may have made a big mistake. Judging by what appeared to happen in the vetting process, I think it reflects more on the general disarray and incompetence of the McCain campaign than anything that may or may not turn up in Palin's past.

You want proof? Read my blog later today!

My source, who heard McHugh Pierre talk about it at Republican Headquarters after he got off the phone with the McCain Campaign, became angry because the cocky Mr. Pierre came to my blog and lied about it in the comments...not once but twice. She's so angry that though she's a non-partisan due to her work, she's agreed to do an interview on the blog. I've said it before and I'll say it again...Mr. Halcro has the most accurate sources in town!

Here is the post...

Andrew, Are you happy that

Andrew, Are you happy that your name is now widely known across this great country? Why be such a sore loser with this "out to get her" psycho fantasy? Instead of spreading rumors and making self-serving allegations, why not go back to your car business and take care of your personal affairs.
